This little creature seemed keen to be photographed – even for a quokka.

Campbell Jones, from Landsdale, WA, caught one of the famously photogenic marsupials leaping towards his camera with a big smile on its face.

He said the quokka chased after him as he was biking on Rottnest Island, and that it jumped at his GoPro camera after he put down the device.

Asked on his Instagram page what he reckons made the animal come up to him, Mr. Jones teasingly wrote: ‘My good looks I think.’

He posted the picture four weeks ago, but it started getting more attention online after it was featured on the quokka appreciation page Instaquokka on Sunday.

‘Okay this is the cutest image I have ever seen,’ one commentator wrote.

Another declared that the photo ‘makes the world a better place.’
