Catcalling can be very annoying and at times women might even feel intimidated.
So to find out where they are most likely to be bothered in public, MailOnline sent three women into the streets of three different cities around the world for two hours and filmed the results.
The experiment was conducted in New York, Sydney and Liverpool – with some very surprising results.
In one city alone, one model received a wedding proposal and even an offer to travel to Cyprus.
The models also received crude and unwanted sexual comments about their bodies.
So which city fared the worst and which performed well?
New York was the worst city for catcalling – our model was bothered 12 times during the two-hour period.
In this city, 26-year-old model Asia Shane-Thompson was asked: ‘Where you from mama? You a baddie, let me see.’
Another man told her: ‘You’re the most beautiful woman in this city, I’m telling you.’
A third said: ‘Listen to me! Girl right there! You know who you are!’ while another said: ‘He’s saying you’re hot baby.’
One man even asked if he could take a photo with the woman.
In Liverpool, our model Serena Stregepede, 29, received eight cat calls during the two hour period.
One man said to the model: ‘Jesus! Come here!’ while another said: ‘We should go to Cyprus to take some photos in the sunshine.’
One passerby shouted out: ‘Oh s***! Phenomenal! Gorgeous!’
Amazingly, one man told her: ‘If you were my girl, I’d marry ya.’
She was also told: ‘You’re beautiful. Don’t get too wet now will you?’
Sydney fared the best of the three cities with just two catcalls during the experiment.
Although model Danielle Bouskila, 25, received some glances and turned heads most did not bother her or speak to her.
One man walking by her, however, did turn his head and say ‘Hello.’
